Like many people, we recently had to become homeschool teacher assistants overnight.  Our schools closed on March 12th and will be closed through the remainder of the academic year.  Almost at the same time, my husband had to start working from home.    So, I drew upon my past experience as a classroom teacher and developed a supply area that could serve a lot of our needs.

I quickly realized that I needed a place to store lots of supplies in an organized way.   I wanted everyone to be able to easily find what they needed to complete their tasks and was hoping to reduce the number of times I would hear those magical words, "Mom!  I can't find ____."

Having a schedule and staying organized are two of the things that are saving me from losing my mind.   I know that I'm not alone, so hopefully you will be able use some of these ideas at your house.  And if nothing else, there is always wine!

I transformed one of my favorite rolling caddy's into a rolling school supply / home office cart.

Here's a list of the supplies I pulled together for our cart.  If you aren't sure what your kids will need, this is a good start.   You probably have lots of these supplies already, but in case you don't, I've included links for you so you can easily shop.

We have a few of these vintage inspired caddy's in stock.  They would be perfect if you only have a few supplies to organize.

I also found this fun caddy.  It would be a great table top alternative to a rolling cart.

I added some of our favorite books to the bottom shelf of our cart so that my kids can easily grab one when I decide it's time to dock our devices and read for a while!

Dock Your Device

And speaking of devices, this charging station has changed our life.   No longer do we spend hours searching for those little white bricks when our phones are almost out of life.   We dock all our devices in one place and it's super easy to account for each device each evening.  And I love knowing that they will be fully charged when we get up in the morning.

What are you doing at home to stay organized with all your new jobs?  Leave us a comment and let us know what's working for you.

We hope that you and your family are staying safe, social distancing and enjoying this time together.

Be Well and Wash Your Hands,
